We typically respond within one business day. If you're in an active emergency, call your local emergency line first (112 in Nigeria) — AlertNaija is a community safety layer, not a substitute for emergency services.

Common questions
I forgot my PIN. How do I reset it?
Open the app → Settings → Profile → Change PIN → Request PIN reset code. We'll send a code to your verified phone or email.
I'm not getting any alerts.
Check that notifications are enabled at the OS level (iOS Settings → AlertNaija → Notifications, or Android Settings → Apps → AlertNaija → Notifications). In the app, go to Settings → Alerts to confirm your alert radius and categories are not all turned off.
My report was removed. Why?
Reports can be removed by automated moderation (for prohibited content), by community-flagged false-alarm consensus, or by an admin action when they violate our Terms of Service. To appeal, see /legal/takedown.
I want to stop using AlertNaija. How do I delete my data?
Visit /delete-account for the in-app and email instructions.
My family didn't get my panic alert.
Confirm that you've added them in Settings → Family, that they've accepted the invitation, and that they have the AlertNaija app installed with notifications on. If all that checks out and alerts still aren't going through, email safety@alertnaija.com with the approximate time of the alert and we'll investigate.
Is AlertNaija free?
Yes. The core app is free. Some optional services from third-party partners (e.g., security responders, nurse bookings) may have their own fees set by the provider, shown clearly before you book.
Which countries / states is AlertNaija available in?
All 36 Nigerian states and the FCT. We're rolling out features by city based on partner availability.
