Operator

Delete in the app (recommended)

1. Open AlertNaija and sign in
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap Profile
4. Scroll to Account actions
5. Tap Delete account permanently
6. Confirm with Delete forever — you’re signed out immediately

That action permanently deletes your account and associated personal data on our systems (subject to the limited retention notes below).

Request deletion by email (if you can’t use the app)

1. Email privacy@alertnaija.com from the email on your account
2. Subject: Delete my account
3. Include the phone number on the account
4. We process the request within 30 days and confirm by email

What gets deleted

• Login credentials — you can’t sign in again
• Profile (name, phone, email, DOB, address, PIN, preferences, family links)
• Push notification tokens
• Private data (saved places, Check-on-Me, your device registry entries, messages)
• Draft reports not yet posted
• Your AlertNaija Plus subscription and Finder Reward purchase history

What we keep (de-identified)

• Public reports — stay in the feed without your name or contacts
• Audit trails — action history for fraud prevention; your name removed
• Anonymous analytics — counts that can’t identify you
• Legal holds — only if required by a valid order
• Payment records — limited Paystack/transaction references we must keep for finance or legal compliance

What happens automatically

• Family circle is notified you’ve left
• Check-on-Me schedules are cancelled
• Open partner/service requests are closed
