What you can request
- Remove a report or post — false, defamatory, harassing, or unlawful
- Remove personal info — posted about you without consent
- Remove an image — copyright, privacy, or harmful images of a minor
- Appeal a removal — if you think your content was wrongly taken down
How to file
- Email legal@alertnaija.com
- Subject: Takedown request
- Include the items below
- Your full name and contact email
- Link to the content, or a screenshot with the report ID
- Why it should be removed (e.g. defamation, copyright, privacy, court order, Terms violation)
- For copyright: confirm you own the work (or are authorised) and the use is unauthorised
- For privacy: confirm the info identifies you and was posted without consent
- Your typed name as a signature
What happens next
- We acknowledge within 2 business days
- Clear cases (court order, copyright, doxxing, illegal content): remove within 24–72 hours
- Complex cases: aim to resolve within 14 days
- If we decline, we explain why and how to appeal
- We may notify the poster so they can respond
Court orders & emergencies
- Attach a Nigerian court order to your email — highest priority
- Imminent harm: subject URGENT, email both legal@alertnaija.com and safety@alertnaija.com

- Include the report ID and your reason
- A second moderator reviews — aim: 7 days
Bad-faith requests
- Knowingly false requests may be logged and escalated
- Repeat abuse may lead to legal action
