AlertNaija includes a device registry flow so you can record identifiers like IMEI or serial, model, and supporting evidence (for example proof of purchase), subject to validation rules.

If you mark a device as stolen in the product, the system can issue a case number tied to that device record. That number is used as part of structured ownership checks — alongside other evidence such as police reports.

Public device lookup and the optional ownership-claim journey are designed for disputed or flagged states (for example stolen or disputed), not to replace legal proof or law enforcement.
