Application For Admisssion to Post-Grauate Courses for the 2012/2013 Academic Year.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for full-time or part-time admissions to the postgraduate courses offered by Nnamdi Azikiwe University for the 2012/2013 academic year.

2.0 Admission Requirements
2.1 Postgraduate Diploma Programmes
The following may apply for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programme:
2. 1 .1. Graduates from approved University who hold first degree classification with a minimum of third class honaurs.
2.1.2. Candidates from approved Polytechnic, Monotechnics, and who hold a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit.
2.20 Masters degree Programme
The following may apply for admission into Masters Programmes
2.2.1 Graduates from approved Universities who have obtained the appropriate degree with minimum FCGPA of 2.50 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 50% for universities who do not use Final Cumulative Grade Point Average, in the proposed field of study.
2.2.2 Holders of Postgraduate Diploma from recognised institutions with an FCGPA of and above (on a 5 point scale). A first degree will be an advantage.
3.0 Doctor of Philosophy Programmes
3.1 Graduates from approved universities who obtained Masters degree in the proposed field of study.
3.2 A candidate seeking admission into Ph.D. programmes from the Masters programme would be required to have obtained an FCGPA of 3.50 and above or a minimum of 60% for universities who do not use the Final Cumulative Grade Point Average, in the proposed field of study.
4.0 Minimum GeneralRequirements
Candidates for all Postgraduate programmes must have a minimum of 5 credits including English Language and any four relevant subjects at one or two sittings in addition to other Departmental/Faculty and General University Requirements and NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate.
5.0 Duration of the Programme
5.1 Postgraduate Diploma Programme (PGD)
The full time Postgraduate Diploma programme lasts for a minimum of 12 continuous calendar months. Part time programme shall last for a minimum of 18 calendar ronths.
5.2 Masters Degree Programmes
The Masters Degree programmes last for a minimum of 12 calendar months for full-tIme. Part-Time programme shall last for a minimum of 18 calendar months.
3.3 Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Programme
Full-Time candidates with Masters’ degree will be required to spend a mInimum of 24 calendar months while Part-Time candidates will be requIred to spend a minimum of 36 calendar months.
6.0 Method of Appication
6.1 ApplIcation form should be competed on-line by login ontomy.unizik.edu.ng/postgraduate on payment of N8,000.00 (Eight thousand noira only) in any of the Banks within the University. Candidates are advised to obtain information on Departmental requirements and areas of specialization from the website:www.unizik.edu.ng/postgraduate
6.2 Print a copy of completed Application Form
6.3 Download and print a copy of the transcript form. This form should be sent to the candidates’ institutionfor his/her academic transcripts.
6.4 Download and print three copies of the referee report form for your referees to complete.
6.5 Copy of the completed application form, referees’ reports and claimed certificates, Including O’level certificates should be forwarded to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awko, not later than two months from the date of this publication.
6.6 Transcripts should be forwarded not later than end of September, 2012. Applicants should assist in this process to enhance their chancesof making admission in October, 2012.
