Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT)
Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) formerly known as Anambra State University iof Science and Technology (ASUTECH) was founded in 1979 by Chief Jim Nwobodo It was the first state owned university in Nigeria, a very popular one for that matter.
It was created with three campuses located at Awka, (now the capital of Anambra State) Abakaliki (now the capital of Ebonyi State) and Enugu, (the capital of Enugu state), these states were part of the old Anambra state. It had the first state funded Teaching hospital in Nnewi, (now Nnamdi Azikiwe Univerisity Teaching hospital, NAUTH)
Following the creation of Enugu State in 1991, the University got its present name. Early in 2006, the permanent site of the University in Ebeano City, (Enugu) with ultramodern facilities, became home to the first group of students and faculty to relocate from its temporary site. However,the hostels are still under construction following the recent trasition of government It contains few number of faculties i.e
Faculty of Medicine Faculty of Social Sciences Faculty of Education Faculty of Natural Sciences Faculty of Engineering among others.
